A healing garden can be designed in a number of different ways. Studies have shown a link between a person’s physical environment and their ability to manage pain and heal. Utilizing this harmonious balance between body and mind, gardens can be designed to stimulate one's visual, auditory and olfactory senses through the choice of plants, sound and color.

Install mandalas and meditation paths to rest the mind, and cool shade-loving plants to rest the eyes. Plant herbs in sunny locations to be harvested for teas and poultices. Use plants that attract hummingbirds and butterflies to your healing space, to uplift the heaviest of hearts.

No matter what kind of garden you decide to plan, make sure you research what plants are appropriate for certain light locations, and enjoy your creation.
